ScienceNewsLineを見ていたら面白い論文を見つけた。Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Preventionと言う論文に掲載されたアメリカのグループの仕事で、ハーバード、NIH,カイザーパーマネンテ、コロラド大などいくつかの機関が参加している。論文のタイトルは、”Predicting Cancer Prognosis Using Interactive Online Tools: A systemic Review and Implication for Cancer Care Providers” だ。論文の内容は簡単で、ウェッブ上で利用できる、ガンの予後について調べる対話型のツールを探し、ある程度安心して仕えるサイトを２２紹介している。勿論患者さんが自分で使う事も出来るかもしれないが、患者さんの相談を受けた医療従事者が話を進めるためのツールとして使うと、良い効果があるのではないかと推薦している。現在でも、病気の予後を予測するためには、集団についての統計データに頼るほかない。勿論、予後データを熟知して日常診療に携わる医師には必要ないかもしれないが、相談を受けるコオーディネーターの方にとって、良いツールになるかもしれない。残念ながら全て英語である。日本にはこの様なサイトはあるのだろうか？一度調べてみたいと思った。もしないとすると、日本の患者さんのためにもこの様なサイトを是非作る必要があるのではないだろうか。
